It doesnt matter. It only affects your guarantee I think. Its NTSC as far as I know...
PS3 games are not region coded, but blu-ray movies are. We are PAl so you want a PAL (Europe) PS3 if you want to watch Blu-ray.
Im pretty sure this is how it works.
Correct Tincan, Blu-Rays are all region coded however locally there are a number of Blu-Rays that are Zone free. Don't know the numbers though.
The region coding will also affect which PS1 games the PS3 can run (and PS2 games if they ever figure out the emulation problem)
So if you have PAL PS1/PS2 games, you will need the PAL PS3

Wrong, all PS3s can play PS1 games. Some PS3s can play PS2 games. The PAL 60gig is the only PAL PS3 that can play PS2 game as afr as I know.

That is correct only the 60GB pal model could play PS2 games the rest could not, and PS1 support was basically available on all but never used. There are also the NTSC/J models, orignally relese in japan of the first batch that had the PS2 chip built in that could play aswell.
