Comments from some of the developers on Dr. Ray's estimate. So it is possible if you are a very thorough player. David Sims is one of the technical designers and David Gaider is the lead writer for the game.

Knowing a little bit about how the % complete figure is generated in game, I would advise not taking it too seriously. I also believe it is impossible to max out in a single play.

As for Ray taking 120 hours to play the game, that length of a playthrough is possible, but it is not typical. Ray is a thorough gamer, and he savours his RPGs. Don't take 120 hours to be an average because it's more of a high end for people who play slowly and spend the time to get the most out of the game.

**** I take it back, I can't see anyone annoyed with a 70 hour game, makes no sense.
Heh, that's what I was thinking.

I think Ray was just saying how long it took him to play the game. I don't see him suggesting that this is how long it would take the typical gamer to play through -- which is a hard estimate, after all, because it depends entirely on your personal play style.

You can spend that long playing the game -- perhaps that is what is more important to take from Ray's figure, if anything. I think the typical playthrough would be less, and for some people who charge through it it may even be a lot less. It's still an enormous game either way.
