5 gaming curses for the superstitious

Don’t believe in superstition? There may be more to it than you think.

Two awesome articles read on here in two minutes. Keep it up!

Jirre that was freaky! Also the Madden picture is ridiculously creepy.
The Madden and Superman superstitions are especially interesting to me. Going to read up on this a little more now...
    That's what she said.

    The Dork Knight.

Maybe the guys from Rocksteady should drop that Superman idea they had or we might not see another Batman Arkham whatever.

No guts, no glory, no brain, same story.

In 2006, Sega acquired the rights to the game, and officially announced a different game under the same title in 2008, set for release in 2010.

    It’s 2012, and we’re still waiting.

Duke Nukem Forever spent 15 years in development, and Aliens: Colonial Marines is closing in on 11 years – what kind of voodoo is afoot at Gearbox to land them two games that have spent over a decade in gaming limbo?
According to Gearbox, Sega announced the game as soon as the licensing agreements were in place in 2008 but development only started in 2009/2010. So it hasn't been in development for 11years it's been 2, which is a very different situation from 3D Realm's DNF since that was almost the only game they were working on and in actual active development for that amount of time.

Yes, it's a different game - under the same name. The implication is that it's the name that's cursed, and thus an 11-year legacy of "Aliens: Colonial Marines".

I see, just putting the distinction out there since there have been games that have been in active development for over 10years like Two Human from Silicon Knights.

Rocksteady should make a Superman game. They would smash that curse and give the man of steel the game he deserves.

I doubt it, Superman isn't a very good game character since there isn't that much that can hurt him so you have to create a sort of contrived mechanic for failure conditions. Not saying it can't be done just saying there are probably better and easier characters to have as your game's protagonist.

How about a total spin, where you play as Lex Luthor, and your goal is to KILL SUPERMAN. That would be an interesting take.

Or you play as Lois Lane investigating stuff and getting to the root while superman occasionally saves your ass and battles bad guys.
