Also recently got a Picanto. 1L auto (for city traffic) Demo was R100 000, with full warranties and service plans thrown in.
    Great small car.

Other car is a 2001 Jeep Cherokee... 3.7L V6, all the bells and whistles and I paid R80k for it!

Depending on mileage you can almost get any car for R200 000 (or less)

The new Rio is really smart

Dan I'd honestly say to try not go for anything higher than a 1.4 mate, with the fuel price being as high as it is. You're going to be spending around 2-3K a month on fuel if you get a 1.6 and higher. They also want to start inducing a new tax initiative that charges you for having a car more than a 1.4 because those cars higher, release more carbon emissions <--- I think that is how it's spelled.

    Just my opinion

The Mito's 1.4 turbo has the same petrol consumption as the new Polo. Also, I work 4km from home

No SO which means the new car would be my permanent ride.

I'm not too fussed about petrol consumption, especially considering work is so close and most of my social hangouts are within 15-20 minutes of where I live.

Currently setting up test drives for the Mito, Rio and Fiesta. Any more suggestions?
