Everyone seems to be completely convinced that HoN is the one and only DotA 2.0 but I must object! Anyone know about a little thing called LoL. No! Not the popular 'short' for someone laughing rather loudly, the OTHER DotA clone, League of Legends, that is actually being made by the peeps who brought us the awesome w3 map. I think the only reason HoN is favored is because the their giving beta keys out like their plagued. HoN is also a little more hardcore, with pentagons and gory creep deaths but that doesn't make the game that much better (fine it does, but keep reading). To me league of legends is looking much better so far as it has a avatar system that gives your account a customizable 'summoner' who acts as your progress statue. You can upgrade your summoner with runes and glyphs gained through achievements and combat. These items globally improve your heroes in-game such as maybe -3 respawn time or +50 starting hp for all heroes. Your summoner also has a talent tree, very similar to WoW. This talent tree is divided into 3 sub-trees, Offense, Defense and Support. Together this ensures for a much more varied game structure to make leveling your account uber fun. So now if you play a pretty leet Axe, Tidehunter and Yurnero, you can invest a few points into 'Increase AoE spell Dmg by 10%' and another few into 'Gives all melee heroes a 5% cleave atk' and the last few into 'increase all heroes armor by 3'. Finally get a 'Rune of Increased AoE Radius' for your summoner and you have a nice AoE-Farming-Tank build for those heroes. What fun!
I'm just saying, keep a open mind for LoL, becuase it seems HoN is really overshadowing it for a petty silly reason, if a reason at all.
