Default What OS do you game on?

Just curious to see who still uses XP to play their games?

It's becoming all the more frequent that people on gaming forums complain because many developers are dropping official support for XP, and I find it somewhat strange. XP was a good OS, but it's on the brink of becoming 4 generations behind.

With what 7 offers, I'm surprised that there actually still are people who use XP at all. I know there's the whole argument of 'if it works', but surely you have to move on sometime?

So, what OS do you play on, and why?

I recently started playing Guild Wars again and nearly pissed myself laughing when I read that they were discontinuing support for (and I shit you not) Windows 95, 98 and ME.

In 2012? There are still games that support those?!

People really need to learn to move with the times.

I use xp and win7. Some games like DCOTE just doesn't play well on win7 period. Obviously win7 is my main Gaming OS part my xbox360...

    Obvious poll is obvious.

Was seriously considering trying the win 8 preview the other day. How usable is it for gaming etc?

Well one of the big reasons XP is still viable is because of the 360 using what is basically DX9, which of course still works on XP. So pretty much every game released today can run in DX9 mode and only a few bother to implement DX11 features.

Indeed. If it weren't for console hardware I think XP would have stopped being supported long ago.
