Yes, GW2 is still a way off - late 2010, early 2011 methinks.
Aion is being developed in-house by NCSoft and they are also the publishers, whereas ArenaNet develops GW.
The relationship between Aion and GW1 / GW2 is completely symbiotic, hence being able to get Aion wings for your GW1 characters with the Aion CE.
