Default pondering on buying a nintendo 3ds but ...

    hi all

iam pondering on buying a nintendo 3ds but i only want to buy it so that i can buy classic games from the nintendo eshop but iam not sure that south africa's users can access the eshop and or buy wii points ? if so where can we buy wii points ? and will i be able to browse the eshop and buy classic games like castlevania and ghost n goblins and even ice climber ect

also is it possible that if i buy two 3ds systems my wife and i can play together in the same game like in ice climber or games that allow for 2 players ?

    many thanks for the assistance

Sad news there are very few classic games on the eshop. They are slowly releasing more but it's gonna take a long time before we see the great ones on there, if ever. Currently games like Mario Brothers, Prince of Persia, Excite Bike, and really old black and white Kirby and Zelda games are on there. Ice Climber would be awesome but sadly not there, neither are the others you mentioned. I'm waiting for the day they release more of them as well.

I'm not sure about the 2 player on classic games, I doubt that would happen but who knows.

    Hi!

Ok let me try my best to answer your questions. I know that some games support local multiplayer, but you will have to read up for the specific game if the local multiplayer option is supported. For older games (like digital classics), I am not too sure.

The South African eShop is not really up to standard at the moment...I have been in touch with the Core Group (they represent Nintendo in South Africa) and I have asked a few questions, I am awaiting a response soon. I will post their reply in here when I get it.

Many people (including myself) advise new users to change their region settings to UK, as there is more content. Buying points is still an issue though. I am working on a solution to this and will see what the easiest way is to do this.

EDIT: I will post any feedback in the 3DS thread, just to keep stuff central. Linkie: http://mygaming.co.za/forum/showthre...3-Nintendo-3DS

Ice Climber etc I'm sure would be released eventually as I have it on my system but that's coz I'm on the 3DS Ambassador program.
    Current ambassador NES games are:
The Legend of Zelda (available for all)
The Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
    Ice Climber
    NES Open Tournament Golf
    Wrecking Crew
    Yoshi
    Metroid
Super Mario Bros. (available for all)
    Donkey Kong JR.
    Balloon Fight

I'm sure the others will become available over time. There are GBA games we got aswell but I'm not sure Nintendo will release this to Non Abassadors.
    DALA SQUAD
    Loud, Proud and Ombeskof
