Default Prince of Persia (1989), so many good times

So it must've been about 20 years ago now, and I remember being absolutely addicted to this game.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_...89_video_game)

And I must've finished the game about 20 times by the time I was 8. The good old arrow keys and all that. One thing that has always stuck with me was with the sword fighting.... And when you came across a really difficult opponent, NEVER make the first move. Always wait, wait, block, strike. Worked every time

I even remember going to my parents friends house for a braai and trying to impress their daughter by finishing the game in one night...which I did (the finish game part, not the impress part). It was only later that I realised gaming doesn't really impress girls

Did you know the "Prince" is actually one of the developer's brother in his pajamas? Will never forget the TAK TAK TAK sound he made when he ran around....and the squish and URGH when he fell into a trap.

    "What's with the poop face?"

I think this was one of the first games that had a good movement animation on the character. Speaking of the squish, I remember him getting chopped in half a lot.

    EDIT: Like this

Hey Matt, you could drink what was in those vase looking bottles at the top of the pic. Do you remember what they did for you though?

As far as I can recall, the red ones gave you life. There were others that did strange things like flip the screen around, or make the prince super light so he could jump high. I seem to recall that some might have been poisonous as well.

Hahahaha! Definitely, the character had great movement. Climbing, hanging, running, jumping, good momentum physics.

I have the original Prince of Persia 1, 2 & 3 by RedOrb Entertainment on CD.
I still can't for the life of me work out how to quit Prince of Persia 2 without
using Ctrl Escape. the manual says to use the mouse and right-click, but it
    doesn't work!

Played the Mobile 2D version of this game, was so mal. Had the Trilogy Edition of PoP including Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and of course, Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. Only have TTT left. An ex-friend has my TT and I don't know what happened to my PoP: TSoT.
