Maybe, unless they planned ahead of GOW III and realised there might be newbie that havent played the GOW series, since this one takes off immediately after the last... A release is a brilliant idea one that should make sony very happy, as well as those collectors and people who want to replay it.

Always was wondering when they were gonna bring out something like this... since the new god of war came out. ive been wanting to play god of war 1 and 2 but had no ps2... this was a good move.

I only played a bit of God of War 2 at a friends place. Loved it. Will definitely pick it up for PS3. Might even get a PS3 to go with it too
