Default Roger Wilco ... a hero or hwat ?

Those were the days. Crappy graphics and text based adventure games.

Games like Space Quest, Kings Quest, Police Quest and Larry. But in all fairness, at that time it was not crappy graphics, it was cool.

I got hooked on the Space Quest series and just love old Roger. Some of his quostes:

"My, this is one hot planet! But you don't care; you're protected with Thermoweave Underwear!"

"Casually glancing at the status bar, you notice you're in Space Quest 12..."

"Ahh! The aroma of several adventure games emanates from your person."

It kept me playing for hours and hours and strangely, there is no game today that gives me the same feeling although the graphics etc improved. I't just that Roger Wilco and his attitude made a game to remember.

    PS:
"The original Space Quest game was released in October 1986 and quickly became a hit, selling in excess of 100,000 copies (sales are believed to be around 200,000 to date, not including the many compilations it has been included in). It was remade and re-released in 1991 as "Space Quest I: Roger Wilco in the Sarien Encounter"."

Wow, we're on a trip down memory lane lately. I grew up with those old Sierra games

Roger Wilco is a classic character. Lost my original Space Quest 1, but bought it again in a Space Quest Collection some time in the early 2000s. Played them all through again and loved it as much as the first time!

Scary how little it actually sold, compared to today's games that isn't a lot. I loved the Space Quest series of game though, in particular Space Quest 4.

I think Roger was the ultimate Anti-Hero. I love the Space Quest series.

One of my fav moment I will probably never forget, at the start of SQ3: You pick up the ladder and put it in your pocket. "ouch"

Wow, I remember watching over my older brothers shoulder as he played through all the Space Quest games. Later on I would do exactly what he did to get through them myself. Really great memories
