    Default Adventure Island (a.k.a. Islander)

I think of all the old TV-game console games I have ever played, I spent most of my time playing Adventure Island. But thinking back now I don't remember ever finishing it, that game just never ended...

Anybody else ever get to the end of it?

I also remember there being an animated series on ye old SAUK, but it was short lived

I also remember playing this for hours at a time, days even. We used to leave the console running when we went to bed or had to go to school so that you didn't have to start all over again. By the time you got home again the console would be ridiculously hot, but that didn't stop us!
Like you, I can't remember finishing this game at all.

Yeah after you've beaten about 5 bosses it seemed like the levels just started looping.

And accidentilly breaking that skateboard egg meant impending doom for me, never could get the hang of that thing.

The spiders always reminded me of Attie, from the old kids program Tekkies (yet another blast from the past)

I used to love that game. He used to use like tomahawks right that seemed to pop out of his eye which was so cool. His dance like movement used to be funny as hell. Brilliant game.

My adaptor blew if I left the tv game on for longer than 3 hours

Back to topic: toem te toem...toem te toem...toe toe toe toe toe toe toem *TOEM TE TOEM* (rinse and repeat)

Loved this game, but the second one was the awesomest... Where you could ride dinosaurs and either fly or whip their tails, or spit fire. After playing that one the original just never was the same. Awesome game I wish I still had my SNES.

There was a bug with my friend's cartridge of Adventure Islander so that you got unlimited lives, even with that we never reached the end of the game but it provided many, many hours of entertainment.

I use to see how far I could come with the skateboard. Game became somewhat impossible when you died and lost your axe at some points in the game. Remember the unlimited lives cheat ("continue) we eventually discovered, all I can remember is it required multiple buttons and that didn't always register...

The second game I saw in a shop and wanted it so bad. Never could find it though...

yeah a friend of mine had the second one, it was AWESOEM, but he always hogged the controller

I actually dug up my old tv-game console, but haven't hooked it up yet, all my cartridges have gone missing so I need to get some at Cash Converters

Did anyone ever complete this game? Or did it just keep looping?
I believe it was called Hudson's Adventure Island, and there were
    3 of them.
