Hero's Quest

I might be showing my gaming age here , but who else remembers Hero's Quest? I'm talking the original EGA version, before the VGA remake and the rename to Quest for Glory. It still has a special place in my heart and was both my first game and the start of my love of Adventure and RPG games.

I'll never forget how I got it as a Xmas present before we even had a computer, and then the feeling as realisation dawned that it meant a computer would soon follow as well. Then a couple of months visiting shops with my parents on weekends playing (invariably Space Quest) on various demo PCs until finally getting our first PC: 286 with 40 MB HDD and 4MB RAM if I recall correctly...

I still have my Hero's Quest box and I don't know if I could ever let it go

4 megs of RAM would make it a beast and pricey too, especially if it's around the original Hero's Quest era, you sure it was 512k or 1meg?
