    Talking Cybernet!

Not a games out of the olden days, but it was a gaming program from that era.
If I remember correctly it was on every Friday afternoon, and I never missed an episode.
It ran for 13 years (1995 - 2008), but I think we only got a couple of those years through SABC.
And it was hosted by Lucy Longhurst, ah Lucy, always teasing me by showing me amazing games I can probably never play. And then of course there was the silent TV-headed mascot...

I still remember sitting there, waiting with pen and paper for the "Cheats" section of the show to come up so I can scribble them down, even if it was for games I don't have... one day I might... but they rambled it off so fast most of the time I couldn't get it all

Dude...It was and for me still is a proper gamers show.
I had a VCR recording of the show, where i wanted a specific trick bike game on the consol. But because VCR's cant be marked with important i lost the title of the game.
Anyways i wish they could bring it back, or bring back a show with that ladies voice.

I still however wonder what the dreamcast was.....Was it those machinces at magic company?

I think Cybernet made a gamer of most people that watched it. It just fueled my fire ^_^

Funny you should mention the VCR part, my brother and I did the same thing. I just posted a similar post also on Cybernet mentioning that and before I was made aware that someone had already posted on Cybernet(sorry Malice). Coincidence? Nonetheless it brings back some fond memories.

The Dreamcast was Sega's last console, it was 6th generation and more powerful then the PS2 and was released a year earlier, though it initially did well, it eventually failed because of easily pirated games even with their funny DC Disc format.

Back in the days when you couldn't afford most games and pirating wasn't really an option with crappy SA internet, you had to be content with just watching awesome games on Cybernet. Such an epic show.

Pirating was big, even with bad internet, not sure how but it was from a friend of a friend.
