    Question Windows OS ISO storing

I am 99% sure is not illegal but wish to confirm.

I am an IT tech that obviously works on end users desktops and often have to reinstall from Windows XP to Windows 7. Most often, like 90% of the time the PC's came with their install disks.

But I just like to keep a clean ISO on my laptop and CD wallet for when I need it, if I need a clean dll or have to install from CD for whatever reason.

Am I right in saying that as long as the PC I am installing on has a key, its ok for me to have the windows ISO's or Windows CD/DVD's? (ISO's for clean copy and installing virtual machines.)

I know, most of the PC's come with a repair disk and you can create one, but at times there are some issues (Win XP and remote printing being case....) thats more easily resolved with a clean vanilla install than the loaded crap HP and the like gives you.

Drivers are handled very well with DriverPack Solution 11.

As long as they have the key and its not a image with a crack in it its legal. you even get a image you can download that gives you all the windows 7(home/pro/ulti) all you need is to have a valid key.

I have a windows 7 usb stick and also keep windows 7 on that.

Yeah that is fine, I have 'images' on our servers that I can 'cast' down to desktops. We have a server that takes care of windows activation, so we do not even need 'keys' anymore (kms enterprise setup)

As long as you are not storing a Offline Activator or Boot Loader with the ISO, its perfectly legal and in fact recommended
