    Question DIY Arcade Machine

With all these Nostalgic Articles going up, I got this MIND Fart that I want to build a Arcade Machine.

I have an old AMD64 Machine with GT6600 and 17" LCD Monitor at home. Simply pop MAME onto it and Boom.... Arcade machine....

Building a cabinet should be fairly simple. I have found AMPLE articles online on how to build all sorts of Cabinets.

The biggest problem is the actual controllers. I want the proper Arcade style controllers, joysticks and buttons.
Found plenty in the US, but they tend to get VERY expensive, not to mention the import duties and postage.

Anyone have an Idea where I can find these? Even if just the separate controllers and buttons?

Check out this site, has DETAILED information building and setting up the System.http://www.slagcoin.com/joystick.html

Maybe that could help, you'd probably have to do some interesting customization on your control panel for them to fit.

I had a look at these, and they seem to be answer. I can maybe simple customize the casing to fit into a wooden box of some sort and still keep them mobile. if required....

But im still looking for a little cheaper option. Cant be that expensive.....

Then again, you pay alot for RETRO stuff......

I doubt you can find anything cheaper... I even saw an option that cost R6000+

Buy 2 of these and build it into the cabinet. It's PC compatible, obviously.

I think I now have an interest in building myself a DIY arcade machine as well... Not in the near future though, still living on a budget

That's pretty cool. Yeah it'd be awesome to have an original machine but like m3n4ce said that stuff is collectible now - SUPER expensive.
