I have phoned Outsurance on many occasions, and they would give me a price. Then you say something like "I got a better quote from you last time / I got a better quote from a rival company" and they quickly say "hold on" and each time they have come back with a cheaper quote.
I got my home (building) insurance down from 420 to 302 by just asking for a better price.
They are really all like that, you just need to play them against each other. Basically they want to try get as much money as possible from you, but they want your business, so if you ask, and especially if you have cheaper quotes, they will go lower.Originally Posted by TBlaar

Then every year when they send you a letter to say that your premiums are increasing, you can give them a call and say kak, I'm older, so a lower risk, I have another year of claim free history, and my vehicle has depreciated so the book/market value that you're insuring me for is actually less than last year, I want a reduction in premium. You can usually get away with paying slightly less than before the increase.
