I myself have been dealing with BT games today, as i have still been waiting to receive my pre-purchase key for GW2. It just blows my mind that they would treat a paying customer with no respect or urgency at all.

Seems more like they want to make the money but not do the work.. Waste of time if you ask me.

I don't think I've ever been to a BT games where I haven't wanted to punch the dude behind the counter in the face. I think all BT staff are bred at the same doos farm. Any others who are helpful and friendly managed to escape in the dead of night.

Me myself had a sickening experience with them.
Called the to confirm stock, drove all the way from Pta North to Woodlands for nothing.
I felt like kicking the fatboy's ass!

I for one, will NEVER buy from them.

Oh, I had me one of those. Got a text that Skyrim CE was ready to collect. Drove 65 km to my BT Games store. Arrived and was told that it isn't there yet. So I asked, "Well then... WHEN?" She says later today. I asked if she could call me on my cell when it arrives, she says that they aren't allowed to phone cellular numbers (apparently blocked or something). I was like

So I drove back to Knysna. Drove through to George again at 15:00... Collected it... then back to Knysna again... 260km FTW.

That was the last time I dealt with BT Games; again because they were the exclusive retailer for the Skyrim CE.

According to their latest publication, there are about 44 BTGames branches in South Africa. At an average of 3 staff members per branch, there should be approximately 132 employees, no? Add to that the individuals at their head office and a few more for the branches that employ more than 3 people and you end up with about 150 souls.

Your remarkable feat of having met each and every one of them (not to mention the enormous distances you must've travelled to do so) is of course what entitles you to make such a statement.

The cousins Assumption and Generalisation can be nasty customers. Remember that a retail store's employees can just as easily assume that all customers are assholes, which would be wrong, because that be would be gratuitous generalisation.

You seem to be under the impression that BT hires the cream of the crop. They don't. They hire whoever is willing to work for minimum wage.

And, personally, from my experience with most staff members across the retail spectrum, minimum wage doesn't buy a lot of happy or competency.

I must say that it all depends on what store you buy from.

I used to travel to Greenstone (As it was the closest BT back then) and I only ever had one cock up caused by the staff, but the guy there realized his mistake, phoned HO and I got some exclusive DLC for the game even though I never pre-ordered. A meager compensation, but I was happy.

Then BT opened up a store at Eastgate. Was much closer to me so I decided to try using that store. They have got to be the biggest retards alive!! The fucked up my Gran Turismo 5 CE by selling it on launch day when I was supposed to collect it! Then I went in several times after that and two times they asked the cleaning lady to help me as they were on fucking lunch?! The fuck?!

And the a BT opened up at The Glen, literally a few blocks away from me. Some of the best staff I have encountered at any store I have been to, not one single cock up, and always been happy with the service.

So while I'm not BT's biggest fan, I will say it all depends on what BT you go to. I will support that BT store happily!
