It's not a dream-job ... not really. Sounds exciting, but once you actually look beneath the surface, you'll find it can be as boring as any other job out there.

There was actually a thread about this a while back ... I'll see if I can dig it up.

    Here you go

Yip not as exciting as you may think, we did a pilot show once similar to the verge and I though it would be fun playing the games, recording the footage and then editing it all with voice over. Let me tell you it was fun for the first couple of days and after that it felt like any other work project, so I imagine that game testing would be the same. The reality show might make it a bit different but we all know how much "reality" there really is in reality shows.

I play games as a hobby not as a job. Being a game tester would be hell to me

Game testing is a KAK job. Game reviewer is a quite a bit better, as long as you don't have to review Wii garbage.

My bad people, most people want to be game tester. I hear this like "id love to be one" or "id play games all day".

I with you guys though, i want to just play it and get it for fun not run it a million times and lose my head.

Except that being a game reviewer means playing and review shit stuff too. It's still a job.

Playing the same broken section of a broken game over and over and over again, documenting every single thing you do in minute details. DOn't forget that when you are sick of the game you can't just put it down and play something else.

Sounds like a recipe for learning to hate gaming.
