Is Crytek this hungry for publicity? Really?

    That's sad.

Meh, he's just got a carrot up his arse.

While I don't deny that mobile gaming is definitely on the rise and more and more devs are taking advantage of this new market, but there will always be a hardcore gaming market.

Guys, in a week or so he will retract the statement again, citing it as another joke.

He is just drumming up publicity with his nonsense predictions of the future. Console gaming is massive and has brought casual gamers in to the fold - something that every games developer loves as it makes them more money than just the PC gamer / nerd.

I have no love for consoles myself and I have felt that in the past they have actually contributed to the ruin of good gaming by diluting the pool with rubbish games, but they are definitely here to stay.

Uhm, no. I do not want to play for hours on a smartphone or tablet. I'll stick to my 50" TV, on my couch with an nice collection of EPICALLY huge games thanks.

What a huge statement but also a load of crap.
I hate mobile gaming. when I'm out and about I don't want to spend my time looking at a flippin screen I do enough of that at home.
Gaming on the go is lame.
