Red Bull is on the hunt for the best racing gamer in the UK this summer when Red Bull Gridsters, a new and unique gaming competition, comes to the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed (28 June – 1 July). You'll have to demonstrate your skills in more than one game, play on more than one console and excel in more than one racing discipline! Have you got what it takes?

Applications close on Friday 22nd June, apply here for your chance to compete.
Sixteen of the UK's best virtual drivers will be taken from the comfort of their own console and and will make it to Goodwood to compete in the Red Bull Gridsters Dome in front of Red Bull Racing and F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel.

The tournament will take place over Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July, so competitors need to be available on both days. Saturday is the round robin phase; every player has to race on every track with the best making it through to the finals on Sunday.

If you are good enough to make it through to the finals on Sunday, Red Bull will provide hotel and catering for the Saturday night.

Games that will be played:
Forza Motorsport 4 (Xbox 360)
Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)
F1 2011 (PS3)

Competitors will play on both PS3 and Xbox 360, they will use PlaySeats with the best steering wheels available.

Within GT5, FM4 and F1 2011 competitors have to race different disciplines and in different car-classes (F1, Touring Cars, Rally, Musclecars, Le Mans-series, etc).

All the matches will be four-player races and will be played in a four player LAN. The winner of the race gets the most points.

To enter, send us a clip demonstrating your racing skills. This can be of your fastest laps [in the chosen games], the in-game awards you have won, prizes you won in off or online tournaments, or a passionate story that you are a great racer in real life and want a chance to demonstrate your skills in a virtual racer!

All entries will be checked via gamertags on PSN and Xbox Live, and entries without a gamertag on PSN or Xbox Live will unfortunately not be chosen.

What's The Festival Of Speed about?

The Festival of Speed is the largest motoring garden party in the world – a unique summer weekend that brings together an impossibly heady mix of cars, stars and motor sport ‘royalty’ to create the largest car culture event in the world. Held in the immaculate grounds of Goodwood House, this annual hill-climb event is a true celebration of motor sport and all things automotive.

This Years Theme: 'Young Guns - Born To Win'

The 2012 Festival of Speed theme is ‘Young Guns – Born to Win’, celebrating drivers and riders and designers and engineers whose supreme talent and insatiable thirst for speed shocked the establishment, affording them immediate superstar status.

Throughout motor sport history, an elite group of newcomers have announced their arrival on the world stage with performances so stunning as to instantly rewrite the status quo. From Bernd Rosemeyer and Mike Hawthorn, to Emerson Fittipaldi and Lewis Hamilton, Mike Hailwood and Valentino Rossi, to Henri Toivonen and Colin McRae, all made an impact that was as immediate as it is indelible.

The 2012 Festival of Speed will celebrate the careers of these overnight sensations – some of whom fulfilled their full promise; others who shone briefly before fading; but all of whom secured their own special place in motor sport’s rich tapestry.

I just love how Red Bull racing is trying to attract the younger crowd towards racing again. I actually like the idea and would have loved to attend.
