Origin is not that bad, but I have the main issue that I have with it is that it is still a broken application. When that is fixed and it really runs without issues or at least close to that then I would be more keen to use it.
Only other thing that pisses me off is the pricing of items. Which really seems expensive imho for some titles.

I honestly prefer Steam to Origin. Sure, Steam has been at the game longer than Origin but Valve always give off the impression that they're doing this all for you. Origin feels like a cash in on the digital market, stuff what people think.
The social integration that Steam has (Friends lists, social groups, forums, reviews etc...) is world class as well.
And then do I need to go into Steams awesome specials?
I bet you won't find Origin doing specials like that anytime soon, if at all.
Are you sure that has nothing to do with your line speed?
I've used a 1mb and then 4mb line and as soon as my desktop is up I'm logged into Steam and ready to play! And when I launch my games on Steam I never have to wait so long. The longest I waited was for Napoleon Total War and that was maybe 10secs...

Does that really change anything, though? On a 384 line Origin is still much faster than Steam.

Yes steams takes a while to open something and yes i agree that origin does not, but if you look at what your comparing its apples and oranges.
Comparing an application like steam to origin just doesnt make sense. Dont get me wrong, i have no problem with origin (so far) but they could of made some effort in releasing it and not show that stupid beta message. Its been how long now and the only excuse they have is "its still in beta phase".
Its time to make a plan.. but then, thats just me![]()
I'm not comparing Steam and Origin here. All I'm saying is I've had much less trouble with Origin than I've had with Steam.
I'm not singing praises for either platform, they both reduce me to hair-pulling, keyboard destroying frustration, but while I was ignoring their update requests it was way faster to get a game running. However since that update its gotten worse. I still hate the whole system of logging onto an account to play a game that isn't a multiplayer.
What I can say is that its easier to use when it isn't trying to screw you over while I find steam is far to slow and it has an update almost weekly which means I never get to play the games I want.
BTW love the standard Noob insult, so overused it means nothing anymore, same league as "your mom".
