How weird, I wonder if they are going to make voice chat an option for the Console versions also.

More recent news on the on the microphone requirement...

Update: The mention of a microphone requirement was an error, Namco Bandai inform EG that Dark Souls PC won’t support in-game chat. Bum.

Thought it was too good to be true. Although voip would kind of ruin it.

Good it turned out to be false, VOIP would spoil it methinks.

I honestly think the lack of VOIP is a great loss.

Sure it's supposed to get you to work with other randoms and make it harder, but what about people who want to play with friends while talking?

I think enabling friends and VOIP would actually boost sales...

Think about it, what would be the first thing you tell your friend when you engage the Hydra in Dark Root Garden? Where to Stand. And with that you ruin it. Unfortunately due to the predictable nature of the game being able to tell someone where to go and what to do exactly would make it way too easy.
