Why do they make it sound like such an amazing idea? It's a season pass, they have used it before in like every Sports game they have and other titles. Unless I am missing something all this is, is selling DLC up front. The that you will sell more copies at the start when lots of people are playing than you would later on when interest has declined. So you are basically banking on selling goods to people who will either not use them or keep people around longer since they will feel compelled to play the map packs they have already paid for.

Agreed. People are going to buy a title and then spend the same amount on this season pass with no guarantee of the quality of the DLC/Map packs coming out or even when they come out. I think its a strategy designed to further strike again pre-owned market since you are alot less likely to Trade your title if you've already paid for all the DLC that still has to comes out. The 6 months later the GOTY Edition shows up with the same DLC for half the price, much like the Dead Island GOTY that is retailing for £15, less than half its original retail price. If anything this may encourage people to hold off buying titles straight away and wait for either the Season pass to show up or some of the DLC to at least prove its worth while.

Just like I refuse to pay full price for a Pre-order, I refuse to pay for DLC that exists only in name only.
