Only issue I had with them was the HDD speed... other than that its a very good deal, and Dell laptops are quite good.

We are still a little bit behind with the Ivy Bridge laptops here in SA. If you really want to get a nice gaming laptop, and you have the budget. Then maybe choose one of those customize sites, like XoticPC. I think someone on MyBB bought a laptop from them a year or two ago, so do some google searches. But on that site you can pretty much customize everything. Otherwise, if you want to buy locally, then maybe get a XPS or Alienware, but that might go beyond your budget. Or you can have a look at the GIGABYTE P2532, which fits your budget and has a fullHD screen.

Scared myself a bit with the importing idea, had a look at that Gigabyte, at that price point I can also get the DELL which seems newer for the price, I'm trying to decide between this:

    and this:

Well honestly if it is a choice and you don't mind spending the extra then go for the Dell 7520, it has a better gpu and more ram in it and running on hd you will need all the oomph you can get. Its something that you cannot upgrade later so rather get the best your money can get now rather then regretting it later.
contact me if you are in Cape Town and looking for PC Hardware at very competitive pricing. We also do web and graphic design.

Have seen this on a local online site, since I am also in the market for a new laptop by the end of this year and started doing research on new core i5 and i7 ivy bridge laptops with full HD (1080p) display.

MSI GE70 Series MS-GE70NC-028ZA Black Gaming Notebook
    Intel Mobile HM76 Express Chipset
Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge Dual Core i5-3210M 2.5Ghz 3MB L3 Cache Processor
    8192MB DDR3-1333 SO-Dimm Memory (2x4096)
    Supports 16GB Max Mem
    750GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
DVD Super Multi Writer optical drive
17.3" FULL HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) Non Gloss Type LED Backlit Display
nVidia Geforce GT 650M with 2GB dedicated graphics
802.11b/g/n Wireless Lan, 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth, Webcam
6 Cell Battery, Full Size Keyboard with Numpad, USB 3.0 ports, HDMI output, 2.7 kg, Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64bit, 2 Year Carry in warranty

Available at R 11,926 over Here.

Also worth mentioning: DELL Inpiron 15r 5520 at just over R10K with Core I7 Ivy Bridge, full HD on 15", but the MSI would be my choice because of the bigger 17 inch display. Hope that helps!
