Icon 2012 happening this weekend for JHB dwellers

Icon is a geek culture expo and it's happening in JHB this weekend.

Did anyone end up going? I couldn't make it, but would like to hear from someone who went.

Was there. Basically the same as last year....

Unless you're there to compete in the Magic/Warhammer/whatever tournaments you'll check out all the stores and be done within an hour. Unless you really take your time...... Then maybe an hour and a half. But the stuff they have is cool and it's a perfect opportunity to find weird and crazy things..... on special.

I've been threatening to pick up the graphic novels for Kingdom Come and Mause for years now and I finally bit the bullet and got them. Prices weren't too bad either.

I only have two issues with Icon.
1:The venue is a bit too small. It would be nice if the hall was maybe 50% bigger. It's just a bit cramped when it's busy.

2. It's the same guys selling comics/figurines/anime/etc as the previous years and they sell the same stuff. It however does help to check prices as the two graphic novels I bought were nearly R200 cheaper where I bought them then the other stalls.

All in all I'll go again next year..... if for nothing else than to watch the cosplay comp.

Thanks for the feedback. I reckon I'll definitely go there next year, sounds awesome. Even if it is just for the comic book stuff.
