i think it depends on the type of game eg in games like 50 cent titles or gta's saints row's it would fit in perfectly but in games like sonic or crash it would look really out of place, can u imagine sonic having sex.

I think it should have its place. In mature games like Dragon Age, Mass Effect and so on its fine but like Dohc said its should be put in just for the sake of being put in.

There should be but it won't happen with US still being over sensitive to nudity and sex in games. Their censor are perfectly fine with violence but just don't mean sex. Won't even go into Aus since they are even worse.

I like sex and romance options in story driven games. It adds to the game imho.

It is true, if its a strong story driven game where u have formed an emotional bond with a character, it adds to the believability if there is some sex in. How ever the tactless way in which some games have approached sex in the past may cause the this doesn't happen except with big studio's like Bioware who aren't afraid to push the envelope.

And there isn't tactless sex in real life?? As long as its not compulsory I have no problem with how companies want to use sex in their games.

If we allow violence in many flavors in games then I don't see why sex should only be allowed into games if it meets certain standards.

But think how the video game industry struggles to escape the idea that its just about mindless violence. Now imagine you have companies doing with sex what the original Gta or Quake or Doom did for violence. Yes doom was fun and yes it was cool and no none of us suffered any adverse effect from the countless hours we spent killing everything that moves. However think of the damage that was done to the image of video gaming by the larger population. Those games are one of the main reasons there are so many orginizations calling for a ban on violent video games. If sex is handled tasteless or tactless in games we will have a whole new group of people wanting them to ban games with sex in them. Also its much easier to offend people sexually than most other way. Remember the ho-ha about Shadow Complex just because the guy that wrote a novel that plays out in the same universe as the game hated gay people?

Video games and music has always pushed boundaries. Should we shay away from content just because it may offend certain sections?? I don't believe you should shay away from content because you are scared you may offended a bunch of zealots. Those organisations you refer to has their own agenda's and by not pushing the boundaries and being scared of them you are giving them what they want.
