Ive also challenged myself to complete all the dean koontz and stephan king novels I own by the end of this year (+-44) would anyone like to join me in this adventure?
I'm currently working on The Wheel of Time series (2nd read through), so I won't be joining in

It's more just to read the massive backlog of novels I own at the moment

You and me both. Although the first time around I only read up to book 10 and then sort of lost track while waiting for the last 4 books. I'm only halfway through book 3 now, but I'm making fairly good progress at least.

At the moment I'm re-reading Wild Cards. Last time I got about 4 books into the series, but this time will be different.

For anybody that doesn't know Wild Cards:
It's Watchmen without pictures.

For anybody that doesn't know Wild Cards or Watchmen:
It's the Heroes TV series (the good ones, at the start) done in words. But more realistic and gritty.

For anybody that doesn't know what words are:
In Heroes, when the people spoke in foreign, those symbols at the bottom of the screen, them be words.

Wait, why am I explaining written language in text?

Anyway, the Wild Cards series is edited (and sometimes written) by George RR Martin (Game of Thrones guy) and it's been picked up to be a TV Series soon.
One day, I'll grow up and become responsible.
Probably not today.

The first time around, I got to book 10 and quit the series for 6-7 months because the book infuriated me. Luckily czc convinced me to get back in and persevere . I think I took a whopping 2 years to complete the series from start to finish, with 1 a month.

Book 10 and 11 are indeed very hard to get through, however Books 12-14 make it worth it

On a whim with nothing else with me at that moment, I got 1984 (George Orwell)..it started off with a bang, I was sooo hooked. Extraordinary writing. The book the main character read, that slams so many nails on the head, it must have sounded like the D-Day invasion morning.

But, ppl who read it and think it's just the insane ramblings of an old man...we live in a free world...you better check your....well, um, on second thought, ignore me, the world is a perfect and just place.

The end though...kinda meh....

After that, with the strong resemblance, I dug up V for Vendetta again. This short series is so close to perfection...extremely excellent. Even the movie was great. (I am not so fond of British series or movies in general, but V for Vendetta was great. hehe, my brother wanted to leave when we saw it at the cinema.)

Words? What those? Are they built up from letters? The sound very familiar..

Umm, about Wild Cards, is it this you are referring too? if so, if you say all that about Watchmen and first season Heroes...then you have me hooked.

The Watchmen....amazing series, same with the first Heroes.
