Alternatives to online multiplayer gaming and other services exist, if you’re willing to start a new hobby

The only thing with this is that there are also annual fees involved and the most important of all the line of site between your point and the highsite in this when connecting to the Jawug. I will eventually get my Wug starter kit but for now I think I'll stick to DSL until I get my own place.

    CTWUG, doesn't have annual fees.

If you already have decently high speed uncapped internet what is the point of joining a WUG? (Not saying there isn't just asking if there is a point)

Well, it's also a bit of a hobbyist scene. It can be fun and interesting to set up your equipment and get it hooked up the network. If your spot is in a good location, you can help out by becoming a node as well, with connections being made to others via your site.

Also, free high speed internet. One of my friends in Durbanville is on the CTWug and he gets more or less 4mb speeds on the internet on the WUG.

Someone in my apartment building has a sticker for CTWug.co.za on his car, and I've been meaning to ask him about it for a while. If he's got an antenna on his apartment I might pay him a fee to us it or something.

I thought WUGs don't offer internet? I mean who would pay for that?

I'd be curious to know how legit it is to stream radio without adds. That is how it works over wug right ?
