Anybody playing this?

I can't believe how addictive this is, specially once you get to grips on how to actually survive.

At first I used to just try and run to either Cherno or Elektro, which are 2 ofthe major cities in the game populated with other players, loot and hordes of zombies. Mostly this was met with instant death from snipers, but sometimes I would get lucky and get a weapon or 2 and was able to make my way out.

Now, after playing it a lot more sneaky and with alot of patience, I started setting up my second hidden camp, most of my group is fully kitted out, Nightvision, M24 snipers, Silenced pistols, Silenced M4's etc. We also do most of our raids in the pitch black of night now, it's waaay more fun with Nightvision and silencers :D

Special thanks goes out to Spartan and Hysteria for helping us out with some epic gear, there truly are some awesome friendly folks out there.

Get Arma 2 Combined Operations from Steam. You need Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead, then just download Dayz Commander or Sixupdater to get the mod and start playing!
 
As far as I've heard from a friend, most of the South African people playing are on the Nag DayZ forums discussing the game...
 
People are telling me the Mweb servers are currently unplayable due to hackers. Odd that they've got it so bad, but the other servers don't seem to get targeted as badly.
 
Heard something about Heli hacks or something?.. Pretty funny how people do everything they can just to destroy the experience for everyone else.. pathetic really

True Story. I lost my 1 week character due to these hackers. The teleport in behind all the players then just kill them. They also teleport all the vehicles to their base. Later on they came back and in random intervals gave everybody on the server broken bones, and emptied out your backpack so you could only crawl places. Now what makes it works is the fact that you cannot "quit / respawn" so you have to find your way to a zombie for it to kill you, while crawling for ages.

I tried the ZA3 Mweb server again, as most of our gear is stored in our camps on that server, tried to run as quickly as possible with my fully kitted character to get NVG's for my mate from my camp there, and the hackers hit again, killing everybody on the server.

Fucking idiots really

So...Now should I buy Arma II and the expansion or are the hackers fucking up the game on other servers as well?

Well, the NAG server has only had one hacking incident so far, and that was more than a week ago. Haven't heard about hacks on the WAGE server in a while either.

The worst part is, there's nothing us server admins can really do. These hackers are locals, so our ping limits don't kick them, and we're not allowed to password the servers and set up whitelists, because the mod devs won't allow it. The problem is, the game's built-in cheat detection is so shitty, the hackers simply bypass it, so there might as well not be cheat protection at all.

I'm pushing the devs on the official forums to allow us to password our servers, because that would be the easiest way of controlling who plays on the servers. As it stands now, the hacking problem is going to be here for long, because it's so piss easy to write hacks for this game that bypass the cheat detection, and detecting hackers is really difficult because they can spoof IDs and make it look like innocent people on the server are hacking.

Mweb just got hacked AGAIN. Everybody teleported to one location :(

See I like the nag server, basically ZERO lag, but I love doing my travels in 3rd person :(
 
Currently there are a group of script hackers that have perma invisibility and teleporting. Apparently there were hackers on all the servers last night
Hysty got nailed this weekend by a porter and i think so did spartan

If the hackers get out of control on our servers and the devs pick it up, they deny our servers access to the hive then our servers are useless... F###ING retards have to go and F### it up for the rest of us :/
