Soz, I mispoke a bit there. I didn't mean to imply that you said it was crap - that was more of an 'if' statement.
Mind you, some of your criticism was quite harsh, which is why the overall score of 70 actually surprised me a bit. For instance, going on what you were saying, I would've expected a much lower score in terms of Originality
I'm not criticizing your review at all (my apologies if it came across that way) - but I like to make up my own mind.
Not at all. Reviews are still just opinions, after all.
The reason I awarded the game a 70 is on the strength of the multiplayer.

I enjoyed the game, Not the most Fantastic game... but was still good fun.
Perhaps we could then call Wolfenstein "The latest in the long line of games from the old pioneers of shoot 'em ups" or something? Ah but then you'd get the guys who'll scream "But it wasn't made by Id! It was Raven!"...
Lol, Raven seem to get third-person games right, but in general their games are just straight romps with a dash of variety thrown in.. Even the third-person games, like Wolverine, which essentially tasks you with killing everything.. But their FPS games especially, always try to add something different to mask the fact that you're basically just shooting everything that walks, whether you want to or not...
I'll give examples then: Quake 4 had you partly Strogg for one half of the game, but you still killed pretty much everything.. Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil gave you the Artifact, which came with some very interesting boss battles, but in essence still had you mass murdering poor demons.. And now Wolfenstein has you running through the Veil while you attempt to live up to what seems to be their tagline at Id/Raven, "Kill everything that moves.." and that's fine, because old school gamers will no doubt eat this one up...
It's just the rest of us.. The ones who've played too much CoD4 and Half-Life... We probably wouldn't enjoy it as much...![]()
I tend to shy away from FPS titles, unless I plan to do a lot of multiplayer. These days I feel if one purchases for the singleplayer portions alone, these games are certainly NOT worth the price tag at release.
Will pick it up when price drops to under R200-250.
Yeah I agree, very few do.
But still, there are many people out there that want good value for money without being forced to look for it in the multiplayer portion. I am not one of those people, but often I do not want to necessarily go online / LAN with a title, and I want the singleplayer to have enough content to at least warrant its purchase price.
