My bad gaming habit

I finish all my games on Xbox. I think the achievement system plays a big part to encourage game completion.

Is it me or does anyone else find it depressing that getting "fun" out of the end game is grinding just to get achievements?
After I get some achievements I step back and question myself what I just did for the last couple of hours doing nothing but
playing the same thing over and over to get achievements.

My bad habit is playing the game for a few hours then getting over it, selling it at a loss and at some stage would probably regret it and buy it again then finish it

I get a new game, play it flat out and get fairly far. Then I stop playing because Im bored of it so I shelf it till Im keen again.
When I start playing again(months later) I finish it in an hour or less because thats how close I was to the end and Im left thinking 'is that it?'. Its happened now with Half Life 2 and Saints Row 3 this week both awesome games but the overall impact of seeing the credits roll has been lost.

I call it Gaming A.D.D. or Gaming Schitzo.

I stopped buying games because of this. I took it on my self to start finishing the games I have before I'm allowed to buy any new ones.

I am no achievement hunter but like completing the end of game achievement. I won't go hunting for 3000 orbs to get 10 GS.

I stopped buying games because of this. I took it on my self to start finishing the games I have before I'm allowed to buy any new ones.

Recently I've had a change of attitude as well

I now refuse to buy anything new until I finished the current games I'm playing (1 title per platform), then what I do is keep a list of what I wanted to played on evernote and I save some cash in the process (I get to pay sale price instead of new price), of course this means I'm always behind as far as the latest titles go but at least I no longer have sealed games sitting on my desk for months
