PS3 Firmware 3.1 now live

I was a little miffed after buying my slimline that i had to update it immediately - (3 weeks ago.)

I thought it would have had the latest firmwire on it seeming as it's brand new.

Anyway, i will be downloading this tonight.

Yeah, the new firmware was released only a few days before the SA launch. I updated mine immediately

The consoles were manufactured before the firmware was finalised, the first batch of slimline consoles were not updated. Sony said this in a press conference but the next set would have the upto date firmware or at least version 3.01 when they get released.

I heard that this update still has problems, it wont read blu ray disks from the previous version. so it hasnt been fixed yet

I have the update and I haven't experienced any problems as yet. I know that a lot of people are complaining that it messes up the bd drive, but mine is working just fine.
