I am going to downgrade to 1MB, as this will keep the pricing the same. (So many people still think that their total cost for 2mb will be the same as for 1mb, this is not the case btw...)
Only the data account will cost more. The 2mb line won't cost you extra. My suggestion? Keep the 2mb line. All line speeds have a certain overhead usage, meaning you don't get 100% full speed for what your line is capable of. If you use a 2mb line with a 1mb account, you will be able to max your account speed, even if it is only an extra 10 or 20kb/s.

No changes for me. I'm on a 4Mb/s line. Although I think I got bumped up to one of the 10Mb/s DSLAM's a while back because I see I sync at about 6Mb/s. Sadly, I rarely get download speeds over 3Mb/s

    And that's for both?

I play £150 ever 3 months (quarterly billing) which comes to about R653.52 a month for my 20mb/s line uncapped with free unlimited landline calls.

I am thinking of downgrading my 4MB line to 2MB and once my exchange becomes 10MB compliant then bump it up again.

It's about time. Unfortunately, we are still being ripped off.

Us lower-end broadband guys (384 and 1mb/s) are really getting shafted. I mean, I pay R258 for my 384 uncapped account, and the guys on 4mb accounts pay about R500 - R700 for their accounts. That's two to three times more for more than ten times the speed.
