Sorry to tell you, bout speed and latency aren't related, you'll likely get more or less the same latency on the faster line.

If you use a 2mb line with a 1mb account, you will be able to max your account speed, even if it is only an extra 10 or 20kb/s.
I have Circuit and Uncapped from Cybersmart. I currently pay R299 for 1MB uncapped (well, they are bringing the price down to this). If I want 2MB, I will pay R599.

So this is double cost for double the speed... not really anything awesome about this.....

Where do you get your data from? I would like to know, because for my all inclusive account I will be paying exactly double.

Yes, but the line price is staying the same, no? They're not going to charge you more for the line, just the data?

Aah, I see, but the line does not bother me, because from 384 to 1MB was TINY difference in circuit price in the first place. My problem is with the fact that for me to DOUBLE my ADSL speed, I need to double my spend. I have heard of too many people on 1mb uncapped thinking that they are now going to have 2mb uncapped for THE EXACT SAME PRICE, which is not the case.

I pay for the package, which includes the line and data, don't care which percentage makes up each cost.

Yeah, but what I was saying is that a 1mb account running on a 2mb line is going to perform a lot better than a 1mb account on a 1mb line. There's apparently some kind of overhead that cuts off between 10-20% of your lines physical performance, and running an account on a faster line ensures that overhead doesn't affect you. Not sure how much of a difference it will make on a 1mb account, though.

I'm not sure if I am going to have to pay a lot more after the upgrade. I have web africa's 384kbs uncapped. When I get upgraded to 1mbs will I have to Pay a lot more for data? or will the 384 option fall away and the 1mbs pricing be the same a the 384 like Mweb
