The G16 is one massive circuit board with lots and lots of leds and a mini LCD monitor. The keyboard was on when the beer spilled and I plugged it out asap. Opened it up, cleaned it, blow dried it, left it for two days, and plugged it back in... was completely dead. Tried to clean it again, waited another day and then tried again, then some lights came on for a moment and then it died indefinitely.
To make matters worse, I took it in to the pc shop I bought it at to ask if they could somehow repair it, they said they will have a look and let me know. About a week later on a late Friday afternoon they called me and told me that they got it exchanged (don't ask me how) I was quite surprised and told the guy I would stop by the shop the next morning. Problem was, when I arrived at the shop the next morning, there was a security officer standing in front of their shop with chains around the door handles... turns out they got liquidated.
Tried to follow it up with one of their other branches, but got no-where in the long run and then eventually I just cut my losses.
I just hope that they don't decide to bring back those crappy membranes so that you can now use it on any keyboard
Might invest in this. 2 keyboards have met their end from beer, and my current has had a few very near misses.
