The thing is, even if a game has been utter shit, playing with friends has always made a bad game fun. Unless it REALLY sucks. I can't really think about any MP that ever really sucked that bad for me that I could say I hated it.

Btw I only played cod1's mp once or twice and there was only 4 players on the servers
Cod2'mp was a big upgrade though
Well in Tiberium wars if the PCs lose sync, it transparent replaces your LAN opponent with an AI.
So I'm sitting next to a friend of mine LANing and I tune him kak about all the flame tanks in his base...and he's like "what flame tanks". *blink*
That MP totally rocked aside from that rather fatal flaw.

I have to agree with Tooks on this one though, a bad game with the worst MP can still have it moments with a group of friends, especially if you LAN.

Mortal Online has been both the best and the worst MMO I've played.
From horrific de-synch when it came to hitting/blocking an opponent, getting stuck under the world with no GM for hours to fix it, to having totally unbalanced weapons, and having flying horses all over the place
But when it works its great.
There was AI, but I think only in SP skirmish-type games. If you had enough player then that game actually rocked for MP.
There was an *epic* bug in it though: You could glitch the NOD airstrip to get an *invisible* flame tank. That really messes with people's heads....wall of flame out of nowhere. The glitch destroyed the airstrip though so its of limited tactical value.
