    Default Apple at it Again

(Reuters) - Apple, fresh from a patent victory against South Korean rival Samsung, has turned its sights on a smaller target - Polish online grocery website A.pl.
The Polish patent office said on Tuesday the U.S. maker of the iPad, iPhone and iPod had filed a complaint, accusing the website of copying one of Apple's icons to its logo and riding its coattails to win customers.
"Apple brand is widely recognized and the company says that A.pl, by using the name that sounds similar, is using Apple's reputation," patent office spokesman Adam Taukert said.
A.pl chief executive Radoslaw Celinski said: "The accusation is ludicrous". The firm, which is not currently using the logo in question, is looking at Apple's complaint.
A date for an official hearing has not been set yet.
The law firm Baker & McKenzie, which represents Apple in Poland, was not available to comment.
Apple was expected to launch a new iPhone on Wednesday.

Seems legit, although tbh not sure if I really put much credence in Reuters anymore.

I just think its weird that a story like this, clearly intended to damage apples public image and play on the feelings of those already feel disgusted by apple suing Samsung, happens to show up on the day the iPhone 5 is due to be unveiled. It could well be true but it seems a wee bit too convenient and why would apple, who has thus far only sued competitors, suddenly sue a small time Polish firm that doesn't even sell electronics. Just seems fishy to me.

What I meant was the story is actually from Reuters, whether it's true or not is another issue. I agree though it doesn't sound very plausible.

I actually have a friend who had his own photography company , his surname was Apèl and he named his company Apèl Photography.
He was forced by Apple to change his company name because of the same reasons

The report seems to be everywhere , but all trails lead to Reuters
    No other news site's .

But is it is true then Apple have sunk to a new low in my eye's

If this is the offending logo (or if it's similar to the offending logo), the question, of course, is this: Does Apple have copyright claim over all apple-shaped logos and icons? I wouldn't put it past Apple to think that it does have claim over all apple images--after all, this is the same company that told Samsung, in December 2011, that it could avoid patent skirmishes with the company by not making tablets or smartphones with rectangular shapes, rounded corners, or flat surfaces.
