Default AMD Vishera chip running at 5GHz is spotted

AMD already has 5GHz Vishera chips running.

AMD's Vishera CPU is expected to tip up later this year and the firm already has a watercooled chip running at 5GHz. The part, which The INQUIRER has seen running stable, is a watercooled Vishera chip, though the firm admitted that the demonstration chip wasn't running at stock speed.

For those that don't know anything about Vishera..they are the follow up chips of Bulldozer. 1st in the pipeline we'll have PileDriver.

Personally I am looking forward to the release of the chips, after BD things can only get better, with rumour of 15-20% increases in performance, things can only get better.

Still rocking my Phenom II, but honestly if I do upgrade my CPU it will likely be an Intel, they are just plain better.

You might wanna rethink that mate.
Intel's single threaded gaming performance may be better at this stage but I have feeling that when Crysis 3 comes we'll see games start using multiple threads and pile driver promises to be a lot faster than bulldozer.

I support both Intel and AMD but I'll always have a soft spot for AMD.

I'll definitely keep an eye on it, but I've become fairly sceptical of AMD keeping pace with Intel in clock for clock performance.
