No they don't. Either that or you need to tell me what you define as being a lot since I've done 200GB+ months in a row without even a beep from MWEB.

Between the 3 people in my house, we download anything from 220GB to 320GB per month on a 4Mbps line, and I've never heard a peep from MWEB. They'll only give you hassles if you somehow try to bypass their shaping.

Well I did not bypass any shaping. I did not use SSL and I used standard ports for downloading. Five months later I get my first warning. Just give it time.

Now I have to pause my downloads from 8am-6pm to keep them happy. I was told to get Uncapped Unshaped ADSL if I wanted "unattended automated transfers for lengthy periods".

No wonder, you thrashed the line 24/7/365 with p2p of course they going to give you a warning. There is only so much Mweb will give you and when you bite the hand that feeds it strikes back.

NNTP actually. Not sure that thrashing is an accurate term since the rest of the household is able to browse websites normally and even watch youtube.

But hey, I was just giving a heads up to the OP.

Well, there's your problem. Outside of 08:00 to 18:00 Mweb doesn't care how you thrash your line, as their contention used by businesses clears up. Kill your line then! But in business hours, play nice or expect a phone call..

Does anyone know how much unshaped internet helps with international delay? I know the speed is a physical limitation but would you be able to get under 100ms ping connecting to a European server?
