Well I don't know if you would enjoy city builders but if you can get hold of Ceasear 3 or Pharaoh or Cleopatra.
I loved those games to bits.
Rollercoaster tycoon 2 is still one of my favorites, closely followed by the city building series; Pharaoh, Zeus, Rise of the Middle Kingdom.
I suppose it would fit in to this category - The ANNO series are really great, I can highly recommend 1404 and the latest iteration 2070.

I finally finished downloading and updating From Dust this morning, so will be trying that out tonight, but I haven't heard great things.

I also liked the Overlord games. not really God type game, but close enough for me
Well Zeus and posiden and rise of the middle kingdom are fairly easy and straight forward.
I remember enjoying SimCity 2000 about 20 years ago. Not sure how well it's aged, but it looks like you can download it here

Don't listen to them its actually really good! A bit easy at times, but a fresh breath of air.
How can you leave out Caesar III?
