Is Turn 10's Forza spin-off a new horizon for the series, or a dead-end?

While the driving isn't half bad I find the "douche" vide in the game off putting, it feels like the game thinks its still 2000 and the Fast and the Furious just came out. With Most Wanted out in a few weeks I see no to fork out for this, MW's social/peer rivalries are also alot more compelling that what I saw in the Horizon demo.

Played the demo last night, the driving itself is great, the game looks great, I just don't like the fact that it has the same obnoxious, in yo' face brah!! setting that nearly killed Dirt 2 for me. You have, what I assume is your manager of sorts, yapping in your ear and telling you to earn rep from the crowd before having some other dude telling you that you have to "earn his respect" - that stuff annoys the hell out of me. It's a pity, because the cruising around is pretty awesome - and I suppose that's all that really counts.
Still going to pick it up at some point.

Yeah Im going to wait for the price to drop a bit before I even consider it.
