Default Violence and explicit language are more childish than mature

Most “mature” games are anything but, says Amnesia dev

Guts and swears don’t make a game for adults

Killing zombies without their arms getting shot to pieces and intestines getting blown out wouldn't be very fun. Also BF3 wouldn't be BF3 without the cursing
Connection to reality could not be established, please try again later

They way I see it... I'm a big boy now... and I don't need my mommy's permission to have swear words in-game.

BUT WHAT AN AWESOME FEATURE TO HAVE!

A parental guidance code to enable blood/curses/nudity etc. They should enable one for gaming, especially online.
You need to enter a Credit Card Number or something to prove you're over 16, 18, 21... whatever the age is. Even if kids have to get their parent's cards. At least the PARENTS WILL BE MADE AWARE by this fact.

    would solve all this nonsense.

As for games using swear words gratuitously... I can just imagine a really pimply kid straight out of high school coding some game and giggling while inserting "f-bombs" everywhere. Must happen just like that at some studios...

Whereas some studios like Edios, Bioware, Ubisoft... they've been making mature games for a while... and their storylines are usually more refined and adult in nature. So you barely notice the swear words because you're wrapped up in the experience.

    Anyone remember Redneck Rampage? Wahahaha

[strike out]I wanted to say something... then tabloid warning kicked in.[/strike out]

Swearing don't bother me, I'd find it hard to believe that someone being shot in the foot or about to die would say... dammit. lol.
