App Store games available in South Africa "soon"?

South Africa is one of two countries that insists on its own classification measures for games

Good to know that something is happening in the background. I really get sick of something not being available in SA because the FPB hasn't looked at it yet.

Good work, now get that stuff out there!

Why do we need a classification agency to classify material that has already been classified?

If I sound repetitive... it's coz that's exactly what it is... SILLY!

A computer game rated 15+ by an international standard in the "country of production" must be "re-classified" in South Africa again before it can be allowed into the country?
Sounds like a waste of resources.

I don't mean to be funny... but why can't it be reactive instead? Establish a pool of trusted standards and sources and then you can absolve those from classification. Like PEGI for games and IMDB for movies.
And if someone complains... THEN get a panel to examine the material. Kinda like the ASA (advertising standards authority). They are very consistent and the average complaints they receive ARE SO LOW. a number as low as SEVEN COMPLAINTS is high enough to warrant an investigation... and decisions are made and implemented within days.

Just seems like a complete waste of resources to pretend to do work that others have already done... and then just put your sticker over theirs. Seems like a waste of stickers...

Because the FPB (read:government) makes money from forcing people to pay them to classify games.
