Default What Graphics Card to Buy these days?

Hey all. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advise with regards to buying a new graphics card.
I currently own a GTS 250 , but it is becoming slowly outdated (doesn't support dx10)

I am looking to buy a new card , with a R2000 spending limit.

has anyone used a GTX 650 TOC 2gb edition ?

    I am wanting to play bf3 and gw2 .

Dont.. You need to bump by about R3 - 4 Hundred and get a 7850 2GB as a minimum else you are not prolonging your purchase,

I second what Cranky says, the 650 is not a strong card for gaming. Only get the 650 if you play on low resolutions and intend to keep it that way, but anything from 1600X900 and up it will struggle to get your money worth, save up the bit extra and look at the 660. 7850 or above.
contact me if you are in Cape Town and looking for PC Hardware at very competitive pricing. We also do web and graphic design.

I'm buying a 660Ti after much checking around... probably the pretty eVGA one (because the way it looks IS important.)

Then perhaps in a year or so, I'll add another one....

It is a 650 Ti with 2 gigs mem. Not the 650. i have read some reviews and benchmark test. It should be able to play bf3 on pretty much ultra. How is it not a gaming card?

ps the 650 ti is better then the 550 ti (isnt that a gaming card?)

that is the one with the enclosed case? but yes i rate they do look alot better then the blue pcb on the gigabyte ones. but i rate gigabyte are abit better at squeezing what one needs from the card, and i wouldnt really overclock a enclosed card

Yep, I'm pedantic like that Want the one with the enclosed casing, because it looks boss.

But last night someone kind of changed my mind, now I am in two minds as to what I want to buy... He suggested I get a 7870 or 7950, as it's in about the same price range, but with new drivers apparently the ATI kicks ass?

    Needs moar opinions...

but nvidia just brought out new drivers too XD, I rate that the whole ati is cheaper thing ended about a year ago. if you look at the specs of what you are buying. Sometimes even the nvidia cards are cheaper.
