Default What graphics card should I buy?

    Hi.
    This is my pc
    Motherboard- ASUS P5VD2
    RAM-1.5GB
CPU- Intel Celeron 2.0 3.06 GHz one core
    Graphics card-Asus geforce 7100gt 256 mb
    Software-Windows 7 32bit
I know that this will not run any normal game but if I change the graphics card to a MSI R6670-MD1GD3V2 or Geforce
9800 GTX+ that will allow me to play something like GTA 4?

I don't think your cpu would run gta4, and the ram is also a bit to low.

Yeah ram isn't that expensive these days..... 8 gB should do you good
As for the cpu... Might need upgrading to if you want to play gta4 without framerate issues
That gfx card should be fine

You will need a new cpu, ram and gpu, problem is because you need a new cpu you will need to get a new motherboard but on the bright side it will allow you to get the DDR3 ram which is quicker and cheaper. 9800 and 6670 are all second hand, the price difference between mid and entry level second hand cards is very small so look at something of older generation but mid range, so I would suggest something like a 5770 / 460 as you can find them for rather cheap and will be a good start till you upgrade down the line.

Did you even check the motherboard spec's? His mobo uses DDR2 ram which is not cheap, 2 gigs cost around R250, recommended would be 4gb so it would not be cheap.
contact me if you are in Cape Town and looking for PC Hardware at very competitive pricing. We also do web and graphic design.

No I didn't... But it is cheap compared to the cpu and gpu

And if I installed only the 9800GTX+ I would get something better out of my pc?

In all honesty, rather use the money you are going to spend on a 9800GTX+ and save it up to buy a better PC. You are going to struggle to play most games with those specs.

Your pc would improve but the 9800 already is pretty old so would need to be upgraded sooner anyway. The ram and cpu would bottleneck the gpu but anything with a bit of oomph ie, Intel G620 (+/- R600 cpu) and up and the gpu will be the one bottlenecking it.
If you are getting the gpu for R250 or less then do it, if not then frankly its a waste of cash.
