NFS: Shift getting good reviews is not NFS Franchise first attemt at a simulation racing game, previous attempt was NFS: Prostreet which failed due to gamers not being into it... NFS stems from an arcade background and thus compared to that it is very good in its own right.
Since this a Forza Motorsport thread GT is next, GT5 which is due March 2010(so they say), has been in development well over 3yrs i believe. Which is long for a game, excluding DNF, but they had so much additions and changes in the time period, that they release a brief part of the game in first in two a concept versions, which were particularly well detailed followed by the Prologue which was, touched up and revamp by 3 updates. GT in its own right could be considered they best racing title ever, because since inteception on PSone it has become more complex and detailed and challanging to the drive. It has to styles of play full on simulation and racing based simulation based on car setup and other settings you choose. This game is also extremely well detailed, from the cars you pass to the interior with every little thing working.
Forza 3 which is Xbox current Racing Champ, is apparently well detailed and true to the cars physics, a cant disagree based upon screenshots, as for gameplay havent got my hands on the demo to decide. Visually it does look stunning, but there isnt much more to the detail futher than the car you drive.. the inside are darkened so you can see everything. I read earlier in the Thread that the replays and Showroom the cars look like real, but that is usually the case in the showroom there is nothing else to render so the cars look better and in a replay all you moment been capture so its polished and show to you. The real piece you have to look at is gameplay, is the visuals the same through out.
I am open to beening correct this is my opinion.
