Looks like a mobile-friendly version of Metal Slug 1 came out today. Although I don't know what they were thinking with those touch control placements. It really clutters up the screen.

from what I can see its Metal Slug 3 on the Android market.
Metal Slug 3 has been out for a while now. It's also currently on sale at a third of the price.

Ah Metal Slug 3. My mistake. In the article they mentioned releasing MS2 and Metal Slug X at some point in the future, so I assumed this was 1.
With regards to the original post, it seems MS1 has indeed been released.
