Yeah. It is quiet sometimes, but I had a lekker time there on Saturday. Nice food and they even had some Beatles on the sound system. This place gets +1.
    That's what she said.

We visited the Silver Orange Bistro over the weekend. WELL worth the drive there. The food was fantastic. Pricing - well - don't go at the end of the month

Expensive then? I only went for a breakfast, and I didn't think it was too bad, but other meals are probably more. Obviously not what you'd pay at Wimpy or something but still, I think it was under R200 two breakfasts, and a few coffee's and latte's and stuff.

So I looked around a bit and came across the Silver Orange Bistro out by Hartebeespoort dam. http://www.silverorangebistro.co.za. It's a very lekker place on their family's citrus farm. We went for breakfast, and I kind of thought that breakfast is more or less the same no matter where you go, but this was amazing. I'll post some photo's if I remember, because the presentation was also very impressive, but it was the most delicious breakfast I've ever had.

I had a farmhouse breakfast, which had a drizzle of what seemed like mixture of olive oil and maybe basil pesto, which really brought out a lot of flavour, and a small fillet steak, which was a perfect medium rare, and super tender, eggs, bacon, potato wedges, mushrooms and toast. My wife had a stack of french toast, bacon and banana, which came with cream on the side and a fancy sugar decoration thing.

The waiter told us that no-one really comes for breakfast though because the lunch is so much better, so I'm dying to go out there for lunch one day. I see they even do wine tastings. The prices were pretty reasonable as well, which was a nice surprise.

Anyways, thought I'd make a thread and see if anyone else knows of lekker places to eat out.

EDIT: As promised, here's some pics

Now that is what I call a masterpiece!

    I should elaborate:

For my wife and I - starters, mains and desserts. With a bottle of white wine. It equated to R600. I would say the prices are the same as Cafe Del Sol's. Although, we wouldn't have a bottle of wine at CDS - that would probably require a down payment.

Ok, that's about what I expect from a nice place for a three course meal and some wine. It's about what I usually pay at CDS as well
