Ok another Q&A one this time some peeps might know it.

A man is busy eating dinner, he hears a huge crash outside and people screaming. He puts his knife and fork down, walks upstairs, turns his light on and then jumps to his death.

    Why did he do this?

He's a lighthouse keeper, and he forgot to turn the light on and caused a ship to crash.

A prisoner is being held captive in a pit. The walls are completely smooth, there are no handholds or anything that would allow him to climb out. The pit is too deep for him to reach the top. He escapes one night, and the only thing in the pit when the guards investigate the next morning, is a puddle of water. How did he get out?
